Principles that underpin sustainability in our Spinning in Green process
Local manufacturing
In our collections, we strive to include items that are entirely made in Europe, from raw material production and dyeing to yarn manufacturing, ensuring:
01.
02.
03.
Use of recycled, organic and sustainable raw materials.
Recycled cotton: We prevent textile waste from going to landfill or incineration; Using these recycled fibers reduces the use of chemicals and water and CO2 emissions to a minimum.
Recycled polyester: Fiber from recycling PET bottles.
Organic cotton: natural fiber that comes from organic farming, which respects the environment and does not use artificial chemicals or genetically altered seeds.
Organic cotton does not use synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or herbicides. Its production takes care of the planet, the health of consumers and the conditions of producers.
BCI Cotton: The cultivation of this Better Cotton Initiative certified cotton is carried out under control of both the cultivation and the conditions of the workers directly involved.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™: its production has a substantially lower environmental footprint. The wood, used as raw material, comes from controlled or certified origins, complying with FSC® or PEFC standards.
TENCEL™ Lyocell: TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers are derived from controlled or certified wood sources using a unique, resource-saving closed-loop production process, resulting in near-zero waste.
Dyeing of mass raw materials with low impact processes
In those cases in which the color is provided through dyeing, this is done on the fiber, before being spun, which allows greater color homogeneity to be achieved, since the entire structure of the fiber is dyed, in addition to It is a much more sustainable technology than other forms of conventional dyeing: water and energy savings of around 50% can be achieved; Due to the lower consumption of chemical products, less wastewater is generated and with a lower contaminant load.
Certifications and Standards
Its main objective is to increase the use of recycled materials in a traceable, controlled and truthful way.
